En raison d'un calendrier macroéconomique vide, le marché devait continuer à se consolider près des niveaux précédemment établis. Seuls des événements inattendus pourraient apporter une certaine variété à la dynamique des échanges — et c'est précisément ce qui s'est passé. La Banque centrale européenne a averti d'un risque élevé de crise de la dette dans la zone euro, ce que les investisseurs ont interprété comme une assurance de nouvelles baisses des taux d'intérêt. Cela survient malgré l'inflation récemment en hausse et l'assouplissement monétaire significatif lors des deux dernières réunions de la BCE. Sans surprise, l'euro s'est à nouveau orienté à la baisse.

La situation reste similaire aujourd'hui, alors que le calendrier macroéconomique est à nouveau dépourvu d'événements significatifs. Cependant, plusieurs responsables de la BCE doivent prendre la parole. Ils pourraient développer les déclarations d'hier et aborder directement la nécessité de nouvelles baisses des taux d'intérêt, entraînant une faiblesse encore plus marquée de l'euro.
