Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. — Petrobras is a semi-public Brazilian multinational oil corporation established in 1953. The main products of the company are oil, natural gas, petrochemical products and fertilizers. In terms of revenue, Petrobras (#PBR) is included in the Fortune Global 500 list.
The controlling stake in Petrobras (55.7%) belongs to the Brazilian government. The securities of the corporation are traded on the New York and Sao Paulo stock exchanges. Petrobras is included in the lists of the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Сomposite indices.
In 2005, the number of the company shareholders reached 170,060. In 2010, Petrobras sold 2.4 billion new common shares and 1.87 billion new preferred shares worth $69.9 billion.
