Harami este un pattern invers format din doua candlesticks: o lumanare mica si o lumanare relativ mare anterioara. Modelul poate fi vazut in orice loc pe diagrama de timp: de minut, de ora, de zi, de saptamana.
"Harami" este un arhaism japonez pentru "insarcinata". "Corpurile" din care este format Harami sunt de culor opuse exact ca modelul Engulfing.
Pattern-ul Harami care se formeaza fie dupa un trend ascendent sau la varf dupa o perioada de trend crescator, indica o slabiciune a trendului si o inversare. Culoarea "lumanarii" mici nu conteaza.
Cand un trader urmeaza sa ia decizii pe piata, acesta trebuie sa ia in considerare pozitia lumanarii mici in ceea ce priveste marimea "corpului"lumanarii precedente, deoarece pozitia are un impact considerabil asupra semnificatiei modelului.
In cazul pattern-ului Harami Bullish care se formeaza pe un trend descedent, corpul lumanarii mici este complet inghiti de corpul lumanarii mari. Acest lucru, inseamna ca tendinta actuala se poate schimba intr-un trend ascendent si va fi sensibil pentru pozitiile scurte de timp.
Formarea unui model Bearish Harami pe durata unui trend ascendent arata o modificare catre un trend descendent, oferind astfel posibilitatea de a deschide pozitii de lunga durata.
